Student Financing

The Animal Behavior Institute is pleased to offer interest-free financing to all students. Please note, however, that ABI is an online, non-degree granting institution. Thus, we are unable to accept federal financial aid. FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) does not apply to our school.

ABI provides low cost, tuition installment plans and convenient monthly payments; you can finance a single course or your entire program. We have a quick and easy application process, including refinancing every semester at no additional cost. Three different payment plans are available. Plans 1 and 2 do not require a financing application or a credit check and are available to all students:

• Plan 1: Deposit of $555 per course; balance payable over 6 months
• Plan 2: Deposit of $370 per course; balance payable over 3 months

Our third plan, available only to US residents, requires the completion of a financing application, a $25 non-refundable financing application fee, and a successful credit check.

• Plan 3: Deposit of $300 per course; balance payable over12 months

Please note that all financing plans include a $50 processing fee, included in the loan amount. The financed amount covers tuition only; it does not include the $25 application fee (for Plan 3 only), books, or other course materials. Tuition must be paid in full prior to the issuance of your final certificate.

Below are three sample payment plans. Applicants may qualify for one or more payment options. Please be advised that the payment amounts include a one-time, $50 processing fee. Note that students do not have to register or pay for all of their courses at once.

Employer Tuition Payment/Reimbursement

Does your employer (zoo, company, veterinary practice, government agency, school, etc.) offer
tuition reimbursement? Many professions (veterinarian, vet technician, nurse, educator, therapist)
require annual continuing education credits for practitioners to stay current and maintain their
license. Many courses at ABI qualify for continuing education credits. Furthermore, the knowledge
and skills you gain through ABI may enable you to provide new services to your clients, such as
a new animal assisted activities program, enrichment, or animal training. Your employer may
well be willing to finance this investment in whole or in part.

1. Ask your employer if they have a training program or if they reimburse expenses
   for career or job skills training. You may need to contact your Human Resources department
   if you are at a larger institution.
2. Determine what documents are needed to obtain funding up front or reimbursement after
   the class is completed. ABI will gladly furnish course information or other documentation to
   assist in this process.
3. If you are using your coursework to satisfy continuing education credits, determine whether
   your certification agency already accepts ABI classes. If not, we can assist you with necessary
   documentation to pursue acceptance.
