Professor of Animal Training
Karen is a behavioral consultant operating her own business, By Your Side Pet Behavior Consulting, LLC. In addition to working with private clients, she organizes continuing education conferences and workshops for animal behavior professionals. She is a Professional Behavioral Responder for the ASPCA Behavior Sciences Team and a per diem feline behavior specialist supporting feline foster caregivers for the ASPCA's NYC Animal Recovery Center.
Her dedication to life-long learning is evident from the multitude of credentials, certificates and diplomas she has acquired over the last decade, including Fear Free certification. Karen also serves as a Professional Behavioral Responder for the ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Behavior Team, is a board member of one of the largest feline TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs in New England, and is a foster caregiver for medically and behaviorally compromised animals. Karen brings to class the first-hand knowledge that comes with over 14 years of experience working with cats and dogs.
